We are proud to announce that, from November 6 to December 15, 2017, we will be carrying out our project to modernize the street lighting network. A total of 782 lights will be converted to light-emitting diode (LED) technology and controlled by an intelligent management system.
In addition to offering improved and optimal lighting for the safety of all users of our roadways, LED technology is also recognized as being energy efficient. The Town’s electricity bill will be reduced by 75%, or $50,500 per year. Note that LED technology offers directional lighting to help reduce light pollution. In addition, thanks to a selection of Dark Sky-certified products, light pollution will be practically eliminated.
Our street lighting network will be enhanced by an intelligent control system that will allow us to manage all of our lights remotely and in real time. As a result of the work, we will save $19,550 in annual maintenance costs.
