The evolution of the 1960s brought the first local commercial venture, with the opening of Cooper's Garage (the present Baie-D’Urfé Public Works building). The shopping centre, known as The Baie-D'Urfé Plaza, opened in 1967, was destroyed by fire in 1980 and then rebuilt and re-opened a year later.
Baie-D’Urfé has maintained a country charm, accentuated by roads without sidewalks and limited commercial activities. There is only a handful of commercial businesses, most of which are located in the Plaza, and listed below.
